Recently, half of the pupils of class of 1I4 had the opportunity to go for this magnificent presentation for Animal Farm. It was decided that there will be a lottery to determine lucky few who will go for the play. I was very lucky and had the opportunity given to me to go for the play.
The Animal Farm play by Wildrice Theatre is truly an eye-catching performance with excellent props and well-trained actors and actresses. There were a few jokes here and there, including my personnal favourite when the actor starring as Boxer defeated Mr Jones and his men not by charging or kicking them, but by doing some fighting moves with the "Wushu song" in the background. It was truly an enjoyable experience that was worth every second and every penny that I spent.
Although it does not follow the storyline as some things are added or missing here and there, it is still a good performance and I would recommend it to others who have yet to catch this play. It really establishes the whole scene of the story and shows detailed points in the story. I feel that we should take off our hat to the actors as they have worked very hard memorising the WHOLE script and knowing all their roles in the play.
After the play, the actors had a dialouge session with some of the audience and they admitted that it was very challenging for them to coop with the process and they also make occasional slips like one actor said "I sometimes forget what (character or) animal I play as and previously went as a goose going mooo..." They also said that they would get sores, bruises and cramps all around their bodies.
